Export from Blender to Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, the web and 3D printing
With Blender Bridge, your AI doesn't stop at building a model in Blender. It prepares the file for where it's going: a game engine, a website, augmented reality or a 3D printer. Tell ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Qwen Code or any other connected AI where the model is going. It picks the format, respects the scene scale, sets the axes and saves the file to your project folder. To connect your AI, see How to connect AI to Blender.
Export formats by destination
| Destination | Format | What matters |
|---|---|---|
| Unity | FBX | Axes for Unity: Y up, −Z forward. Scene scale respected, textures embedded |
| Unreal Engine | FBX | Axes for Unreal: Z up, −Y forward. Scene scale respected, textures embedded |
| Godot | GLB | The model and its materials in a single file |
| Websites and web viewers | GLB | File size in the report, which matters for page speed |
| AR on iPhone and iPad | USDZ | Scene units in meters, as AR viewers expect |
| 3D printing | STL in millimeters | Your slicer gets real dimensions |
| Anything else | OBJ, PLY, Alembic, USD, glTF and other Blender formats | The AI exports through Blender's Python API on request |
Export leaves your scene unchanged. Export the whole scene or only the selected objects.
How to ask
One sentence with the destination is enough:
- "Make a low-poly treasure chest for a mobile game and export it as FBX for Unity."
- "Export the selected model for Unreal Engine."
- "Get this vase ready for printing and save it as STL in millimeters."
- "Export the scene to GLB for the web and keep the file light."
The AI tells you what was saved and where, with axes, units, file size and any material warnings. With the plugin in ChatGPT or Claude, you can download the file right from the chat, even on your phone.
Scale, axes and materials
The most common export problems are wrong scale, swapped axes and materials that don't carry over. So export in Blender Bridge is set up for each destination:
- respects the scene unit scale for GLB, FBX and STL;
- sets the axes for Unity and Unreal Engine and names them in the report;
- warns when procedural materials need baking to carry over to another app;
- leaves the objects in your scene untouched and never overwrites an existing file: every export is a new file.
Then open the file in your engine or slicer. If something needs to change, tell the AI: it fixes the model in Blender and exports again.
From idea to finished asset
A typical game asset goes like this:
- Describe the object: "a low-poly stone well, under 2,000 triangles".
- The AI builds the model, adds materials and shows a screenshot.
- Adjust in words: "darker roof, bigger bucket".
- Say: "export it as FBX for Unity". The file is ready.
If something goes wrong, return the scene to the checkpoint you need: Blender Bridge saves the AI's steps.
