What's new
Blender Bridge 1.1 is a big update: work in your own Blender from a laptop or phone, a Blender Bridge panel in ChatGPT and Claude, checkpoints and undo, background renders, free assets and collaboration.
Blender Bridge 1.1 — October 12, 2026
A big update: work in your own Blender from any device, see the scene right in the chat and easily undo the AI's missteps.
- Blender from any device. ChatGPT, Claude and other chats connect to the Blender Bridge server, so you can work with your Blender from a laptop or a phone. Download scenes, renders and models right from the chat. More.
- A Blender Bridge panel in the chat. In chats that support app panels, the plugin shows the scene view, checkpoints, project files and render progress beside the conversation. More.
- Your AI knows Blender better. It checks the Blender API reference and manual and finds free models and HDRI environments from Poly Haven, and textures from Poly Haven and ambientCG. More.
- Easy undo. Blender Bridge saves the AI's steps as checkpoints: return the scene to the one you need, and undo the return too, until you keep working. More.
- Collaboration. One person provides their Blender, the other works in it through their own AI; roles are chosen in the invitation, and access opens only with the owner's consent. More.
- Your AI gets Blender ready. Ask, and it opens Blender, picks the right version, installs the Blender Bridge extension and restarts Blender.
- Renders don't get in the way. A background render runs in a separate Blender: your Blender stays responsive, you see the progress and can stop the render. More.
- The updated browser extension. MCP tools are built into the extension, so the AI on a website works almost as it does through MCP, and you can return to checkpoints from there too. More.
- The Blender Bridge extension in Blender creates scene checkpoints and restores them. The app installs and updates it in the Blender 4.2+ extension format.
The app and Blender Bridge MCP update themselves through signed releases; the browser extension updates through the Chrome Web Store.
Next step: connect ChatGPT, Claude or Codex to Blender.
