Frequently asked questions

Short answers: can AI create 3D models in Blender, is it free, do you need Blender installed, does it work in a browser or on a phone, which AI works, is it secure.

Can AI create 3D models in Blender?

Yes. With Blender Bridge, your AI builds models and whole scenes right in your Blender: geometry, materials, lights, cameras, animation. It checks the result in scene screenshots and refines it. More in What AI can do in Blender.

Is it free?

The first 7 days are free, with full access and no card required. After that, a 1, 3, 6 or 12-month subscription. Blender itself is always free. More in Free trial and plans.

Which AI works with it?

More in Which AI to use.

Do I need Blender installed?

Yes, Blender 4.2 or later on a Windows computer. The AI builds the scene in it: a regular Blender scene you can save, open and keep working on. Blender is free, and the app installs the Blender Bridge extension in it.

Can I use Blender in a browser or on my phone?

Yes. Blender stays on your computer, and you work with it from ChatGPT or Claude on a laptop, tablet or phone through a connection to the Blender Bridge server. More in Blender from any device.

Do I need to know Blender?

Not to get started: describe the task in words. And if you do know Blender, the AI takes the routine off your hands: layout, lighting, materials, camera moves, export.

Can I export to Unity, Unreal Engine or Godot?

Yes. The AI exports FBX for Unity and Unreal Engine, GLB for Godot and the web, USDZ for AR, and STL in millimeters for 3D printing. Export respects the scene scale, sets the axes and reports units, file size and material warnings. More in Export.

What if the AI gets it wrong?

Return the scene to the checkpoint you need: Blender Bridge saves the AI's steps, and the return itself can be undone. Then refine the request.

Can two people work together?

Yes. Invite someone by their Blender Bridge account email, and they work in your Blender through their own AI. Commands reach your computer only after you agree.

Is it secure?

Blender accepts commands only from the Blender Bridge app on the same computer, and every command needs a signed access grant tied to your account. Usage statistics contain none of your prompts, AI conversations, code, scenes or images. More in Security and privacy.

Do I need the internet?

Yes, for signing in to Blender Bridge and for cloud AI. You can use a local model through LM Studio. The connection between the Blender Bridge app and Blender stays inside your computer.

Is there a version for Mac or Linux?

Blender Bridge runs on Windows 10 and 11 today. macOS and Linux versions are in development.

What happens to my scenes after the subscription?

They stay yours: saved .blend scenes, renders and models are regular files on your computer.
