Which AI to use with Blender

Any assistant that can write code will do. What to look at when choosing.

The one requirement

The assistant has to be able to write Python. Everything else is a matter of comfort. Blender Bridge does not resell AI access, does not push a particular model, and works with whatever you already use.

What to look at

Do you need a paid AI subscription

It depends on the assistant you choose. The free tiers of most are enough to try it and build your first scenes. A Blender Bridge subscription neither includes nor requires AI access.

Frequently asked questions

What matters more — the model or the way I phrase things?
The phrasing, noticeably. A strong model given a vague description will build something of its own; an average one given a precise description builds what you asked for. The model starts to matter on complex scenes, where dozens of conditions have to be held at once.
How much does it matter that the assistant can look at images?
It saves you a lot of time. An assistant that sees the viewport screenshot notices its own mistake. One that cannot will wait for you to describe it.
Can I control Blender by voice?
Blender Bridge does not listen — it passes on what the assistant wrote. But if your assistant accepts voice, everything after that works as usual.
Can I switch assistants later?
Yes, at any time and with nothing to change on our side. Blender Bridge is not tied to a model and never asks for AI keys.
