What is Blender Bridge
Blender Bridge connects your AI to Blender. Tell the AI what you need: a product shot, a game asset, an interior, an animation. It does the work in your Blender, checks the result in scene screenshots and refines the scene to your brief. You end up with a regular Blender scene, with real objects, materials, lights and cameras that you can open, edit and render.
At a glance
| What it does | Connects an AI to Blender on your computer; the AI builds and edits the scene through Blender's official Python API |
| Which AI | ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Antigravity, JetBrains AI Assistant, Gemini CLI, Le Chat, Perplexity, Qwen Code, Kimi Code, Trae, Cherry Studio, CodeBuddy, Tongyi Lingma and other MCP apps; AI websites such as ChatGPT through the browser extension |
| How it connects | A plugin in the chat, Blender Bridge MCP, a browser extension |
| Where it runs | Windows 10 and 11, Blender 4.2 or later. macOS and Linux versions are in development |
| Languages | Interface in 15 languages |
| Price | Free for 7 days, no card required. Then a 1, 3, 6 or 12-month subscription |
How it works
- Install the Blender Bridge app on your Blender computer, create an account, confirm your email and start your 7 free days. Already subscribed? Just sign in.
- Connect your AI in one of three ways. Through the plugin or Blender Bridge MCP, the AI can open Blender, pick the right version, install the Blender Bridge extension in Blender and restart Blender by itself.
- Describe the task in plain words. The AI does it in Blender, looks at scene screenshots and fixes what came out wrong.
Your Blender always runs on your own computer. The plugin and the server-address connection pass commands through the Blender Bridge server, which is why you can work with Blender from any device. Local Blender Bridge MCP and the browser extension talk straight to the app on that computer.
What the AI does in Blender
- Models and whole scenes: meshes, curves, modifiers, Geometry Nodes, procedural modeling.
- Materials and textures: shader nodes, UV unwrapping, baking, and free textures from Poly Haven and ambientCG, plus models and HDRI environments from Poly Haven.
- Lighting, cameras, animation and rigging: keyframes, armatures, constraints, drivers, camera orbits.
- Physics: rigid bodies, cloth, fluids, particles, hair.
- Rendering and compositing: Cycles, EEVEE and Workbench. For long calculations, request a background render: it runs in a separate Blender while the open scene stays responsive.
- Export for real projects: GLB for the web and Godot, FBX for Unity and Unreal Engine, USDZ for AR, and STL in millimeters for 3D printing.
To get things right, the AI checks the Blender API reference for the available Blender versions and the Blender 5.2 manual. Blender Bridge saves the AI's steps as checkpoints, so you can return the scene to the one you need and undo the return too. More in What AI can do in Blender.
Three ways to connect
- Plugin — for ChatGPT and Claude. A Blender Bridge panel right in the chat: the scene view, checkpoints, project files and render progress. Works from any device, including your phone.
- Blender Bridge MCP — for AI apps and code editors: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Trae, Qwen Code, Kimi Code and more. Give the agent the setup instruction from the app, or add the configuration by hand.
- Browser extension — for AI websites such as ChatGPT: paste the pairing key from the app and run Auto Setup. It connects even AIs that have neither plugins nor MCP.

Who it's for
- Blender artists who want to hand routine work to AI: layout, lighting, materials, camera moves, export.
- People who want results without a long learning curve — describe the scene and get a finished shot or model.
- Game developers, designers, online sellers and makers who need assets, product shots and printable models fast.
- Teams who want to work in one Blender together, each through their own AI.
Security
Blender accepts commands only from the Blender Bridge app on the same computer. Every command needs a signed access grant tied to your account. In a shared session, commands reach a computer only after its owner agrees. Usage statistics contain none of your prompts, AI conversations, code, scenes, images or file names.
